Midget All-Star Festival
The Event...
Now in its 8th year, the Midget All-Star Festival is an all day event that showcases the talents of the GTHL’s Midget hockey players from the A, AA, and AAA competition categories. Players are selected from each Midget team to represent their respective team and competition category in the A, AA & AAA Midget all-star games. The 2010 event will take place on Saturday January 23, 2010 at Herb Carnegie Arena.
Selection Process
Directors of player development use November and December to observe and evaluate the players on their physical play, offence, defence skills, positioning and skating. Their evaluation process will include a 28 member panel grading the players. During this process independent evaluators working under the stewardship of Herb Ebisuzaki, Techinical Director of Coaching Programs for the GTHL. Hundred of hours were required to these dedicated individuals in viewing the countless games involving all of the member organizations' Midget teams and players.
