GTHL Top Prospects Game
It was a great night of hockey when the GTHL's top 15-year olds took the ice at Herbert Carnegie Centennial Arena for the inaugural GTHL Top Prospects Game.
The first annual GTHL Top Prospects game which was held on Thursday January 21, 2010 saw a celebrity coaching battle between Wendel Clark and Pat Flatley.
The first period was a close checking affair with no scoring but had severl big body checks being laid. Team Flatly's Trevor Peterson opened the scoring in the second period with assists from Gianluca Curcuruto and Rober Polesello. Adding another in the second and two in the third period, team Flatley never looked back ending the game with a 4-0 lead. Click here for complete scoring information.
Hockey Night in Canada star Don Cherry was on hand to select and present player of the game awards to Team Flatley's Robert Polesello and Team Clark's Matia Marcantouni. Each player received a glass trophy and gifts from Bauer Hockey and Pro Hockey Life.
A game that was showed on Rogers TV also had the attention of CHL President and OHL Commisioner David Branch who dropped the ceremonial puck.
