The third annual Canadian Tire Cup took place over the weekend, with 107 Minor Peewee and Peewee house league teams from across the Greater Toronto Area – 18 teams more than last year – competing for 11 top prizes.
Players and families who took part in the three-day event were treated with visits by National Hockey League Alumni, interactive games and exhibits courtesy of the Hockey Hall of Fame during a jam-packed weekend of hockey excitement!
Sunday afternoon at Scotiabank Pond featured 11 championship games, with the winners awarded the 2015 Canadian Tire Cup.
MINOR PEEWEE
West Mall Eagles defeated Erindale 62 by a score of 4-3 to win the Frank Division.
Faustina White defeated Faustina Red by a score of 1-0 to win the Jumpstart Division.
Credit Valley 61 defeated Clarkson 61 by a score of 4-3 to win the Yardworks Division.
Meadowvale 62 defeated Erindale 63 by a score of 5-1 to win the Maximum Division.
PEEWEE
Thornhill Leafs defeated Willowdale Senators by a score of 4-3 to win the Canvas Division.
Scarborough Canadiens defeated West Hill Red 30 by a score of 3-1 to win the Mastercraft Division.
Willowdale Sabres defeated Port Credit 73 by a score of 3-2 to win the Motomaster Division.
Victoria Village defeated West Hill Canucks by a score of 3-0 to win the Woods Division.
West Hill Orange defeated Thornhill Philly by a score of 6-1 to win the Simoniz Division.
West Hill Black 28 defeated West Hill Green by a score of 5-2 to win the Reflex Division.
Port Credit 72 defeated Faustina White by a score of 5-1 to win the Noma Division.
The annual event is a free tournament funded by Canadian Tire and hosted by the GTHL. It is open to Minor Peewee and Peewee House League teams sponsored by Canadian Tire as part of the Canadian Tire Team Sponsorship Program administered by the GTHL.
