FRANK PIETROBONO
“Take care of the little thing and the big things will take care of themselves.” That’s the philosophy Pietrobono has been sharing with his players for close to 30 years. He began as head coach of the Duffield Devils in 1986 and has since held various titles with many GTHL clubs, most recently working the past two seasons as trainer for the West Mall Lightning Under-21 AAA team.
Pietrobono, who played hockey with the West End Boys Club and Toronto Blazers in the Metropolitan Toronto Hockey League (now GTHL), says his favourite memory in the GTHL was when one of his players scored his first goal of the season in overtime of the championship game in the City of Vaughan Hockey Association final.
