EVERY (UNDER-) DOG HAS ITS DAY
Sometimes regular season finishes accurately predict postseason champions. But not always:

* The Markham Islanders finished eight points out of first place in the Atom A East division in the regular season but knocked off the No. 1 (Ted Reeve Thunder) and No. 2 (Leaside Flames) seeds before defeating the second-highest ranked team from the West – the Vaughan Panthers – in the championship.

* The Toronto Wolverines entered the postseason as the No. 3 seed in the Peewee A West Division, but defeated the Kraft Cup champion Duffield Devils in the division final before knocking off yet another Kraft Cup winner – North Toronto – to clinch the playoff crown.

* The Toronto Aeros finished well back of the Kraft Cup champion North York Knights in the Minor Bantam A regular season, but completed a three-game sweep of the club in the East Final before knocking off the No. 2-ranked Vaughan Panthers in a four-game championship series.
