TORONTO – The Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) is set to host their 7th Annual Legacy Classic golf tournament on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Richmond Hill Golf and Country Club. All proceeds from the tournament will support the GTHL Legacy Fund which was established in 2011 to provide financial assistance to GTHL families in need.
All 150-plus participants will be treated to a meet and greet with television personality Don Cherry upon arrival and will gather after their round for a hot stove with television personality and former President of Hockey Operations for the Calgary Flames, Brian Burke. A buffet dinner, silent auction, and raffle will also round out the event.
“Going into its seventh year, we are extremely thankful for the support this tournament continues to see,” said GTHL Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer Scott Oakman. “The contributions made by participants will help GTHL families that need it the most.”
The GTHL Legacy Classic has previously seen appearances by high profile GTHL graduates including Minnesota Wild Head Coach Bruce Boudreau and Hall of Famer Eric Lindros. Last year’s event raised over $18,000 for the GTHL Legacy Fund.
