Team Blue takes exciting 3-2 win in U18 ‘AA’ All-Star Game

The 21st Under-18 All-Star Festival fuelled by Gatorade wrapped up on Saturday, January 28 as the ‘AA’ All-Stars went head-to-head.

In an exciting, buzzer-beating finish, Team Blue came away with the 3-2 win.

Aiden Pitblado (Leaside Flames) captured the Gatorade Performer of the Game for Team Blue with a two-goal performance.

On Team Red, Eric Del Fatti (Vaughan Rangers) was named the Gatorade Performer of the Game.

To open the game’s scoring, Pitblado put Team Blue up 1-0 in the first period.

In the middle frame, both teams traded goals as Pitblado added his second of the game and Gabriel Campoli (Vaughan Rangers) responded for Team Red.

As the third period began with a 2-1 lead for Team Blue, the contest featured back and forth action from both sides.

The real action came with 39 seconds remaining in the game as Team Red’s Andrew Piroli (Mississauga Rattlers) scored to tie the game up at two. Team Blue quickly regained their composure, taking back the lead with just six seconds left in the game as Adam Awrey (Humber Valley Sharks) went coast-to-coast to score the game winner.
