The Greater Toronto Hockey League is proud to highlight the 24 alumni selected in the 2024 NHL Draft, held at the Sphere in Las Vegas on June 28-29.
Of the 24 players selected, six had their names called in the first round accounting for 18.75 per cent, with the highlight coming when former Toronto Marlboro Beckett Sennecke was picked third overall by the Anaheim Ducks. All six of the GTHL graduates were 2022 GTHL Top Prospects. In each of the seven rounds, at least two GTHL alumni were selected.

The first round also featured two pairs of former GTHL teammates selected in Sennecke and Sam Dickinson (Marlboros), and Zayne Parekh and Liam Greentree (Markham Majors). Overall, a total of five pairs and/or triplets of former Under-16 GTHL teammates were selected throughout the 2024 NHL Draft.
- Sennecke and Dickinson were teammates with the 2006-born U16 Toronto Marlboros (2021-22 season)
- Parekh and Greentree were teammates with the 2006-born U16 Markham Majors (2021-22 season)
- Michael Hage, Jacob Battaglia, and Henry Mews were teammates with the 2006-born U16 Toronto Jr. Canadiens (2021-22 season)
- Sam O’Reilly, Logan Sawyer, and Kaden Pitre were teammates with the 2006-born Vaughan Kings (2021-22 season)
- Lucas Ellinas, Kevin He, and Kieron Walton were teammates with the 2006-born North York Rangers (2021-22 season)
A total of 10 out of the GTHL’s 13 ‘AAA’ clubs were represented throughout the draft, with the Port Credit Storm spotlighted as the beginning of Luke Misa‘s minor hockey career. Leading the way with five selections were the Toronto Jr. Canadiens, while the Vaughan Kings and the North York Rangers were a close second with three each. The Marlboros, Majors, Toronto Red Wings, and Toronto Young Nationals all had two selections as the Mississauga Senators, Reps Hockey Club, and Thunder Bay Kings each saw one player chosen.
On the NHL team side, a total of 16 franchises selected at least one former GTHL player. The Calgary Flames led the way with four: Parekh (9), Battaglia (62), Mews (74), and Misa (150).

- Kevin He became the highest drafted Chinese-born player when the Winnipeg Jets selected him 109th overall in the fourth round.
- Jack Pridham is the son of current Toronto Maple Leafs Assistant General Manager, Brandon Pridham.
- 13 former GTHL Top Prospects were selected in the 2024 NHL Draft:
- Team Clark-James-Primeau: Ryerson Leenders, Landon Miller, Sam Dickinson, Riley Patterson, and Beckett Sennecke

- Henry Mews, Zayne Parekh, Sam Dickinson, Liam Greentree, Carter George, and Ryerson Leenders all won gold together with Team Canada at the at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in 2023.
- Luke Misa is the older brother of Michael Misa (Saginaw Spirit), who is one of the top prospects for the 2025 NHL Draft.
- Riley Patterson’s Mississauga Senators defeated Hage, Battaglia, and Mews of the Toronto Jr. Canadiens in the 2022 OHL Cup Championship Final. Patterson and Hage had one assist each in this game.
- Michael Hage was the recipient of the NHL’s 2023-24 E.J. McGuire Award of Excellence. First awarded in 2015, the E.J. McGuire Award of Excellence is presented annually by the League to a candidate who best exemplifies commitment to excellence through strength of character, competitiveness, and athleticism. Born in Oakville, Hage rebounded from a significant injury in 2022-23 and persevered through the tragic loss of his father to finish fourth overall in scoring in the United States Hockey League (USHL) in 2023-24.
