GTHL to hold second straight Indigenous Hockey Equipment Drive January 25 at Scotiabank Pond

For the second straight season, the Greater Toronto Hockey League will be holding an Indigenous Hockey Equipment Drive in support of Indigenous youth in Ontario on January 25 at Scotiabank Pond. The equipment drive will be in conjunction with the League’s Under-18 All-Star Festival fuelled by Gatorade and the I Play in the G Festival.

On January 25, equipment will be collected between 9:00am-3:00pm. Individuals looking to donate will find the Indigenous Hockey Equipment Drive under the Scotiabank sign in the lobby of Scotiabank Pond.

For those able to donate, please review the items being accepted below:

ACCEPTED: 

  • Hockey Sticks
  • Shin pads
  • Pants
  • Shoulder pads
  • Skates
  • Elbow pads
  • Gloves
  • Helmets
  • Bags

NOT ACCEPTED: 

  • Undergarments
  • Socks and jerseys
  • Jocks
  • Neck guards
  • Goalie equipment

The Indigenous Hockey Equipment Drive is one of the main pillars of diversity and inclusion with Their Opportunity, which assist with planning, logistics, social media, and the online presence for the cash donations to buy new helmets and support any transportation costs.
