Special Olympics is Looking Forward to Your Participation and Support

As hosts of the 2017 Special Olympics Ontario Provincial Summer Games, Peel Regional Police are gearing up to roll out the red carpet as athletes from all around the province descend on Peel Region.

Taking place July 13-16, the games will bring together almost 800 athletes who will compete in five sports: athletics, bocce, golf, soccer, and softball.

To support the games, the GTHL is challenging teams to put forward their best efforts to support their fellow athletes through the Adopt an Athlete program. By adopting a Special Olympics athlete, teams will receive a full bio of their athlete, along with their picture and sport. Teams are encouraged to come out to cheer on their athlete at the games. The Adopt an Athlete goal is $500 per team, but any fundraising efforts are appreciated.

The support of GTHL teams will go a long way to ensure the success of the Special Olympics and the Adopt an Athlete program. Help change the lives of individuals with intellectual disability through the power of sport.

Please visit AdoptAnAthletePeel.com/games to adopt a Special Olympics athlete.
