2015-16 J. Norman Sharp Midget AA Scholarship Award

Alessandro Antonini learned to skate at age three before embarking on a nine-season career in the GTHL, which began in his minor novice year with the Goulding Park Rangers. Antonini, who just finished his Midget AA campaign with the Toronto Aeros, recalls that his most memorable hockey moment came when he scored the first goal of the OHF Championships while serving as captain of his team.

An Honour Roll student throughout high school, the North York native is set to pursue a career in business. At the time of his application for this scholarship, he had applied to business programs at the University of Toronto, York University and Ryerson University.

“Alessandro is a man on the ‘verge of great things,’” wrote Carla Mancini, his Grade 12 English teacher, in a letter included in the application. She added that “people are compelled to be with Alessandro” and the he is “undoubtedly a natural born leader.”Alex game action 3
