You’re now a few games into the season and have settled into your hockey routine. Although not as busy as September, the month of October still has plenty of great hockey ahead. Here’s what you can look forward to.

House League Hockey Begins
Early October

If you play in one of the League’s 30+ house leagues, October is the month everything gets started. Dust of the old hockey bag, sharpen the skates, and make sure all your equipment fits before hitting the ice.

Don Mills Mustangs Thanksgiving Tournament
October 6-9

Hockey and Canadian Thanksgiving go together like mashed potatoes and gravy. GTHL select squads from Tyke to Midget will battle it out over the Thanksgiving long weekend as part of the 17^th Annual Don Mills Mustangs Thanksgiving Tournament. Almost all GTHL house leagues are scheduled to compete.

Leafs Kick-Off the Regular Season
October 12

Leafs fans are eagerly awaiting the debut of superstar Auston Matthews after he was drafted first overall by the club this past June. Fans will no doubt also be keeping a close eye on GTHL alumni Mitch Marner who will be campaigning to make the team. The Buds kick-off the regular season against the Ottawa Senators on October 12.

North Stars Scotiabank Cup
October 28-30

Entering its 19^th year, the North Stars Scotiabank Cup allows AA teams to test their competition early in the season. Over 121 teams are scheduled to compete over the three-day event.
