Dear GTHL Players…

Dear GTHL Players,

We know you may have read about the GTHL returning on October 7 and you were looking forward to finally getting back on the ice with your teammates. It’s been a long time and we know you’re missing hockey. We are too. Unfortunately, especially right now, things don’t always work out the way we would have hoped.

Your safety and the safety of your coaches, teammates, parents, grandparents, teachers, and loved ones has to come first. Doctors and scientists have told us that we have to stay off the ice for the time being, so we can keep everybody safe.

When will you be able to get on the ice with your teammates? We hope that we can return on January 4, 2021. That’s only a few more months.

And remember, hockey comes in many forms. You can still shoot a puck in the driveway, rollerblade down the street, or play mini-sticks in the basement with siblings. Not all hockey has to be played on the ice.

In the meantime, remember to social distance, wash your hands, wear a mask, and stay safe.

Sincerely,

Don West                                                                                            Scott Oakman
President, GTHL                                                                               Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director
