The Greater Toronto Hockey League will officially kick off the 105th Regular Season with Puck Drop Weekend on September 24 and 25.
This year’s event, taking place at York University’s Canlan Ice Sports, will see nearly 200 GTHL teams compete in regular season games. In addition, over 10,000 attendees will be treated to a number of off-ice, interactive activities. Fans can enter for a chance to win tickets to the World Junior Championship in Toronto, and swing by the GTHL photobooth before visiting a miniature Hockey Hall of Fame.
“Puck Drop Weekend has become a fun tradition to mark the beginning of each season” said GTHL Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer Scott Oakman. “It is great to welcome players, families and fans back to another season and it is always exciting to do so with such an entertaining event.”
All proceeds from Puck Drop Weekend go to support the GTHL Legacy Fund which was established in 2011 to assist GTHL families in need.
