TORONTO – The Greater Toronto Hockey League has announced the teams that have been granted entries for the 2017-18 season. A total of 563 teams from 51 different Hockey Clubs and Associations were approved for participation by the League’s Board of Directors.
A total of 96 “AAA” teams, 2 Under 21 “AAA” teams, 238 AA teams, and 227 “A” teams were awarded for the 2017-18 campaign. This is compared to 96 “AAA” teams, 8 Under 21 “AAA” teams, 240 AA teams, and 222 “A” teams were awarded at this time last year.
The League will also welcome the Mississauga Beast as a new Club for the 2017-18 season. The Beast will have eight “AA” teams compete from Minor Atom to Midget.
“The GTHL is pleased to announce the team entries for the 2017-18 season,” said GTHL President, Don West. “The League is confident in the teams that were selected for entry and we’re eagerly anticipating another great season of hockey.”
Tryouts for the 2017-18 season will commence on April 10, 2017.
