GTHL Statement Re: March 2, 2023 Members Forum

On March 2, 2023, the Greater Toronto Hockey League had its semi-annual Members Forum with all organizations and members. During the meeting, a representative of one of the organizations made certain comments that were considered inappropriate. In the meeting, a GTHL representative indicated that there would be follow up by the League.

As of the morning of March 3, 2023, the individual has been suspended by the GTHL indefinitely, pending a hearing. The matter has been reported to the Hockey Canada Independent Third Party (ITP) pursuant to the applicable policy.

The GTHL has received numerous communications from individuals representing other organizations in the League condemning the comments made by this individual and indicating that those comments do not reflect the views of their organization. The GTHL remains committed to creating safe spaces for all individuals in the League and the sport as a whole.
