Media Advisory: Legacy Classic Golf Tournament

TORONTO, ONThe Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) will host their 5th annual Legacy Classic golf tournament on Tuesday July 12, 2016 at the Richmond Hill Golf and Country Club.

Over 150 golfers, including GTHL alumni and members of the GTHL community, will take to the course starting at 11 a.m. Participants will gather after their round for a buffet dinner, raffle and silent auction, and a hotstove style interview with special guest Don Cherry.

All proceeds from the tournament will support the GTHL Legacy Fund which was established in 2011 to provide financial assistance to GTHL families in need.

“We are thankful to have continued support for this tournament from the GTHL community,” said GTHL Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer Scott Oakman. “The support we receive from teams, alumni, and a personality like Don Cherry will allow us to assist many GTHL families in the future.”

The event has previously seen appearances by members of the NHL community including Minnesota Wild Head Coach and GTHL Alumni Bruce Boudreau.
