Mississauga Rattlers goaltender joins October Saves Goalie Challenge once again

Jacen Craig, goaltender for the Under-14 ‘AA’ Mississauga Rattlers, is once again making noise this October – choosing to stop pucks to stop cancer with the October Saves Goalie Challenge.

Active with the challenge since 2019, Jacen is looking to follow up his efforts from the 2021-22 season which saw the netminder finish first in all of Canada with $3431.00 raised. Participating with then-goaltending partner Aidan Podalski, the duo collectively raised $5106.00.

Jacen’s dad, Lee, served as the original inspiration behind joining the challenge as he fought his own battle with cancer. Now, Lee is very much still the inspiration – but with a happy and healthy twist.

“My dad is now 100 per cent cancer free,” Jacen’s October Saves page reads. “I want other people to be able to say that.”

Jacen has already raised well over half of his $5000 goal and is currently sitting first overall nationally.
