Staying Home With GTHL Partners

As the world stays at home to prevent the spread of COVID-19, brands big and small are coming up with new and innovative ways to keep minds sharp and bodies physically active. GTHL partners and sponsors have started to create programming for players and their families to participate in at home.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart

Believing in the power of play, Canadian Tire Jumpstart has launched the Play From Home Resource Hub which includes a variety of ways to keep kids active and entertained. Recent additions have included a scavenger hunt and appearances by Canadian Tire athlete ambassadors such as Connor McDavid.

The Resource Hub is free of charge and can be accessed here.

Hockey Canada

Our national governing body has compiled a ton of programming to keep you occupied at home, including hockey-themed materials to integrate into school-based lesson plans.

Once class is out of session, follow along with Hockey Canada’s lead strength and conditioning coach as he preps players with off-ice training regiments.

Toronto Maple Leafs

Coordinator of Hockey Development at the Leafs and GTHL Coach Greg Schell is leading players through easy exercises they can do at home with little or no equipment. Videos are posted every few days and focus on drills that will help you transition back to the ice.

NHL/NHLPA

The NHL and NHLPA have teamed up to provide their Future Goals program to students working remotely. Future Goals includes interactive hockey-themed STEM education for elementary and middle school students, as well as resources about making healthier choices.
