U15 AA East Enders Ticats support community effort with Christmas Toy Drive

For the second consecutive year, the Under-15 ‘AA’ Toronto East Enders Ticats participated in Centre 55’s Share a Christmas Program.

For over 40 years, the program has been dedicated to supporting and spreading joy to families in need, ensuring that everyone can experience the magic of Christmas. The program provides local individuals and families with grocery gift cards and unwrapped toys over the holidays.

“What made this year’s involvement even more special was the extended support from other Ticats teams,” said Tanya Witty, the Head Coach of the U15 ‘AA’ East Enders. “For the first time, the U12 ‘AA,’ and U14 ‘A’ teams, and [the] Association joined forces with the U15 ‘AA’ team, making this year’s contribution to the toy drive even larger and more impactful.”

With the Ted Reeve Hockey Association leading the way, the initiative saw involvement from partners such as Beast Athletics, and Bob Acton Sports, all coming together to collect and donate toys that will bring joy to children and families in need this holiday season.

“We are proud to have played a small part in such a meaningful cause,” Witty continued. “The spirit of giving is what the holidays are all about, and it’s inspiring to see so many people come together to help those who need it most.”

In addition to providing necessary resources to families in the community, the toy drive served as a reminder of the positive impact that can be made when individuals and organizations come together for a common goal. Whether on the ice or in the community, the U15 ‘AA’ East Enders Ticats are committed to continuing this tradition of giving, hoping their participation will inspire others to give back this holiday season.
