Minor Peewee A
The story through the first six weeks of the campaign has been the Ted Reeve Thunder, who remain undefeated through 11 regular-season games after a 5-1 victory over Forest Hill on Friday. At 10-0-1 (21 points), the Thunder are three points up on their closest competition. The club owns a League-leading 0.55 goals-against average and six shutouts.

Tracking the Thunder are three clubs with 18 points – the Markham Islanders (9-3-0), Leaside Flames (9-2-0) and Toronto Shamrocks (8-1-2). Of those teams, only the Islanders and Shamrocks were in action over the weekend. Markham stretched its win streak to five games with victories over the Toronto Aeros (2-1 W) and Don Mills Mustangs (5-0 W), while Toronto posted a 4-1 win over the Scarborough Ice Raiders.

The Thunder will put their undefeated record on the line against their toughest competition this week – they face the Shamrocks Thursday (6:10 p.m. at Ted Reeve) and Flames Friday (8:20 p.m. at Leaside Memorial).

The West Hill Golden Hawks (7-4-0, 14 points) extended their win streak to four games with a 2-1 victory over the Leaside Flames.

A pair of weekend wins helped the Avalanche (7-3-1, 15 points) climb within two points of the Toronto Wolverines (8-1-1, 17 points) for top spot in the West division.

Winners of three straight, the Avalanche first edged the Toronto Eagles with a 4-3 decision on Saturday, followed by a 3-0 victory over the Toronto Royals on Sunday – their third shutout of the campaign.

The Wolverines also earned a 3-0 shutout of the Royals to improve to 5-0-0 at home this season.

We don’t have to wait long for a showdown between the top clubs – the Wolverines host the Avalanche on Thursday at Amesbury Arena (6:40 p.m.).

Minor Midget AA
Ten games, 10 wins. The Ice Warriors have battled to an unblemished record through the first six weeks of the regular-season after a 4-2 victory over the Humberview Huskies on Sunday. The club has not yielded more than two goals against in a game this season and lead the division with a 0.90 goals-against average.

Keeping pace with the Warriors are the Mississauga Braves (9-1-0, 18 points) and Vaughan Panthers (8-2-0, 16 points), the second and third-ranked teams in the division. Mississauga won its fourth consecutive game on Sunday (2-1 vs. Toronto Wolverines) while Vaughan cruised to a 6-1 final over the Mississauga North Stars.

Should the Ice Warriors remain undefeated after their game Tuesday – 8:45 p.m. at MasterCard Centre vs. Humber Valley Sharks – both the Braves and Panthers will have a shot at handing them their first loss next week. The Ice Warriors host back-to-back games against the Braves and Panthers at Hershey Centre on Monday, Nov. 9 (9:25 p.m.) and Tuesday, Nov. 10 (9:05 p.m.), respectively.

The East also has an undefeated team, the Ted Reeve Thunder at 11-0-1 (23 points), but their three closest competitors – the Scarborough Young Bruins (9-2-0, 18 points), Markham Islanders (8-3-1, 17 points) and North Toronto (7-3-2, 16 points) – all inched closer to top spot with victories on the weekend.

Scarborough skated to a 4-1 victory over the North York Knights to maintain a one-point edge over Markham, who downed the Toronto Shamrocks 3-1. North Toronto also defeated the Shamrocks with a 2-0 shutout on Halloween.
