Three GTHL affiliated clubs to host OHF Championships

Three Greater Toronto Hockey League affiliated clubs will host a 2015 OHF Championship, the Ontario Hockey Federation announced last week. The Toronto Marlboros (Atom AAA), Mississauga Braves (Peewee AA) and the Mississauga Hockey League’s Meadowvale Minor Hockey Association (Bantam A) will all host teams from across Ontario from Apr. 9 to 12, 2015.

Each event will begin with a welcome banquet on Apr. 9, with games beginning the next day.

The OHF previously announced the Toronto Young Nationals will host the 2015 Central Region Midget AAA Championship (Mar. 30 to Apr. 5).

Below is the complete list of 2015 OHF Championship and All-Ontario/Central Region hosts:

Atom A – Temiskaming Shores Minor Hockey Association (NOHA)
Atom AA – Whitby Minor Hockey Association (OMHA)
Atom AAA – Toronto Marlboros (GTHL)

Peewee A – Stratford Minor Hockey Association (ALLIANCE)
Peewee AA – Mississauga Braves (GTHL)
Peewee AAA – York Simcoe Espress (OMHA) *All-Ontario Championship

Bantam A – Meadowvale Minor Hockey Association (GTHL)
Bantam AA – Stratford Minor Hockey Association (ALLIANCE)
Bantam AAA – Timmins Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) *All-Ontario Championship

Midget A – Orillia Minor Hockey Association (OMHA)
Midget AA – Les Elans de Hearst (NOHA)
Midget AAA – Toronto Young Nationals (GTHL) *Central Region Championship

Juvenile AAA – Ajax Minor Hockey Association (OMHA)


In 2013-14, the GTHL hosted three OHF Championships: Atom A (Vaughan Rangers), Midget AA (Vaughan Panthers) and Juvenile AAA (East Enders Ticats).

The OHF Championship hosts are selected based on a rotation schedule within the participating minor hockey Member Partners.  The minor hockey Member Partners selects a host based on a set of criteria.  These selections are then presented to OHF Minor Council for approval.
