Preview: 2018 OHL Cup Powered by Under Armour Quarter-Finals

Sun County Panthers vs. Toronto Jr. Canadiens
Scotiabank Pond Rink 2 – 10:00am

Since defeating the Toronto Titans in their Wild Card Play-In Game, the Sun County Panthers have been busy turning heads all tournament, including a 3-2 victory over the Cambridge Hawks – a team they had lost three straight to prior to the tournament. The Panthers will have to find a solution to getting past the solid Jr. Canadiens goaltending team of Sami Molu and Christopher Adolphe. The two tendys have recorded some of the best numbers among all OHL Cup goaltenders.

Barrie Jr. Colts vs. Toronto Marlboros
Scotiabank Pond Rink 1 – 10:30am

With the offensive superstars such as tournament point and goal leader Will Cuylle, the Toronto Marlboros head into the quarter-finals with an undefeated round-robin record. Expect both goaltenders to be tested early on, with Jr. Colts Tyson Foerster tied with Cuylle for the tournament points lead.

Mississauga Reps vs. Vaughan Kings
Scotiabank Pond Rink 2 – 11:45 a.m.

In their three meetings this season, the Mississauga Reps and Vaughan Kings have failed to resolve anything on the scoreboard. With only six points between them in GTHL Regular Season standings, the Reps and Kings have ended every matchup in a 2-2 tie. The OHL Cup Powered by Under Armour quarter-final game will finally force the two teams to decide a winner.

Oakville Rangers vs. York-Simcoe Express
Scotiabank Pond Rink 1 – 12:15 p.m.

There’s been no slowing down for the York-Simcoe since winning the OMHA Championship. The Oakville Rangers will look to shut down Quinton Byfield and the undefeated Express in an all-OMHA matchup.
