Register Now for Referee and Timekeeping Clinics

Prior to the start of each GTHL season, officials and timekeepers are required to refresh their knowledge with timekeeping and referee clinics. Officials and timekeepers that are new to the League must also enroll in a course before applying for jobs.

How It Works For Officials

New officials must register for referee summer camp or a beginner referee clinic before they are eligible to apply for officiating positions. Summer Camp is open to everyone over the age of 16, while clinics are divided into youth and adult sessions.

More experienced officials are also encouraged to participate in summer camp programs, which offer junior development, senior refresher, adult courses, and more. Alternatively, recertification and updating clinics are available from level one to senior levels. Officials must recertify yearly in order to be eligible for jobs within the League.

How it Works for Timekeepers

Like officials, timekeepers must recertify on a yearly basis. Those new to timekeeping can register for a junior timekeeper clinic. Intermediate and Seniors clinics are also offered and directed a those with over two years experience. Register now.

Resources

Both the GTHL and Hockey Canada offer numerous resources for timekeepers and officials. The GTHL Learning Centre has everything from penalty standards to timekeeper information, while the Hockey Canada officiating essentials page provides information on rules and the officiating level system.
