Call for Equipment

As part of the inaugural I Play In The G Festival from January 19-21 at Scotiabank Pond, the GTHL will be running an equipment drive supporting an introductory hockey program at Taylor Creek Public School in Scarborough.

The program, which is aiming to launch this year, will introduce over 65 Grade 5 students to the joys of hockey. In order for the program to be a success, administrators are requesting gently used equipment that will be loaned to the students.

“Hockey is a part of our Canadian Identity and as such we believe that all students should have a chance at this experience,” said Vice-Principal, Angella Henry-Jonas.

The 6-8-week program is seeking the following items. Bins will be available for equipment drop-off from January 19-21.

  • Neck guards
  • Shoulder and chest pads
  • Elbow pads
  • Gloves
  • Jocks/Jills
  • Hokey pants
  • Shin guards
  • Helmets
  • Pucks
  • Sticks
  • Skates

All donations are greatly appreciated.
