The newly named Pro Hockey Life Cup is what every team has their eye on. These teams got a little closer to clinching one of their own.

Minor Peewee AA
It was a winning weekend for the first place Toros (5-0-2) who won back-to-back games to extend their winning streak to three. The Toros have two games on the undefeated second place Mississauga Beast (5-0-0). Teams should be watching out for the Humber Valley Sharks (4-2-1) who won their fourth straight game in a 3-0 victory over the Duffield Devils (0-4-3) on Sunday.

A hard fought 1-0 win against the Don Mills Mustangs (2-4-1) earned the Leaside Flames (6-0-0) their sixth straight victory. The Flames currently sit in second behind the Forest Hill Force. After their first loss of the season on Thursday, the North York Knights (6-1-0) were able to come back strong on Friday, displaying their dominance against the Toronto Aeros (1-6-0). The division remains tight early on, with the top four teams all in close contention for the top spot.

Other finals from Minor Peewee AA weekend action:

West – West Mall Lightning 7, Mississauga North Stars 2
West –
Toronto Eagles 5, Greater Toronto Capitals 1

East – Goulding Park Rangers 4, Scarborough Young Bruins 0
East – Willowdale Blackhawks 5, Hillcrest Canadiens 3

Minor Bantam A
After a second round playoff exit last year, the North York Knights (6-0-1) look determined to do better this season. The Knights currently sit first in the division after winning their third straight on Saturday to stay undefeated after seven games. Despite a slow start, North Toronto (5-2-0) have picked up the pace, winning their fourth straight over the weekend. North Toronto will look to repeat as regular season champions this year.

A first round playoff exit for the Vaughan Rangers (6-1-0) last season has motivated them to the top of the standings to start the season. The Rangers, however, will have to keep up the pace if they want to fend off the defending regular season champs in the West Mall Lightning (5-1-1). The Lightning notched their third straight victory on the weekend to sit one point behind the Rangers in the standings. Teams should not underestimate the Avalanche (5-1-0) who are aiming to repeat as Scotiabank GTHL Playoff champions. The Avalanche won their fourth straight on Saturday against the Toronto Wolverines (3-3-1).

Other finals from Minor Bantam A weekend action:

West – Duffield Devils 3, Greater Toronto Capitals 2
West –
Vaughan Rangers 3, Humberview Huskies 2

East – East Enders Ticats 4, West Hill Golden Hawks 1
East – Goulding Park Rangers 1, Markham Islanders 4

Minor Midget AAA
The road to the OHL Cup Powered by Under Armour is in full force with the Toronto Young Nationals (8-0-0) and Don Mills Flyers (8-0-0) leading the pack. Both teams remain undefeated after eight games played. The Flyers have only allowed seven goals in their eight games played. They will look to defend their title as GTHL Regular Season and Scotiabank GTHL Playoff champions. The Nats and the Flyers will meet for the first time on October 16 for a 8:50 p.m. puck drop at Victoria Village.

Other finals from Minor Mdiget AAA weekend action:
