Markham Islanders participate in Operation Raise a Flag

Canada’s Remembrance Day tradition, Operation Raise a Flag, returned with a special tribute to Veterans with the addition of a symbol this year that honours the sacrifices and contributions made by Indigenous Veterans.

The Markham Islanders players did their part to make sure we continue to remember those that fought for our freedom. The U13A team were out planting flags at Sunnybrook Hospital the night before Remembrance Day. The local AAA hockey team had fun bonding and can now appreciate Remembrance Day a little more.
