The Greater Toronto Hockey League announced today the results of an investigation into allegations of misconduct that took place at an Under-12 ‘AAA’ game on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

The investigation focused on an allegation that a spectator accosted another spectator from the opposing team.

As a result of this investigation, the League conducted a hearing Thursday, November 21, 2023 and determined that the conduct of the spectator violated the GTHL’s regulations specific to behaviour. As a result, it was determined the individual be prohibited from attending any GTHL games and/or events for the balance of the 2023-24 season, be required to write a letter of apology to the subject of their behaviour, and that they be on probation for the 2024-25 season. Additionally, prior to the spectator attending games in the 2024-25 season, they would first be required to take the Respect In Sport Parent Program.

The GTHL Board of Directors approved a Sanction Disclosure Policy in November 2023, outlining the types of sanctions the League will publicly disclose. The GTHL is committed to ensuring the safest possible environment for its participants.
