GTHL announces the formation of the Player and Parent Advisory Committee (PPAC), calls for applications

TORONTO, ON — The Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) is excited to announce the establishment of the Player and Parent Advisory Committee (PPAC). The PPAC is a vital initiative aimed at garnering valuable feedback to enhance the overall experience of players participating in GTHL programs.

The PPAC has been created with the primary goal of obtaining insights and advice that will contribute to the design and delivery of positive, instructive, and enjoyable experiences for all GTHL players. In this regard, the GTHL is currently inviting applications from interested parents and players who wish to actively support these objectives and be a part of this crucial committee.

BACKGROUND 

  • Composition of the PPAC

The PPAC Committee will comprise a minimum of 10 members, consisting of current and/or recent GTHL players or parents. The GTHL Board is committed to appointing members who represent diverse competitive levels, including House League, Select, ‘A,’ ‘AA,’ and ‘AAA’ levels of hockey. The Committee will also include GTHL Directors and Staff to facilitate meetings and communicate Committee recommendations to the Board for consideration.

  • Role of the Player/Parent Advisory Committee

The PPAC Committee will play a pivotal role by:

  1. Providing valuable advice to the GTHL Board on the development of strategies, policies, and programs focused on enhancing the player experience in GTHL programs.
  2. Offering insights, evaluating programs, and making recommendations on matters related to GTHL Events, Programs, Policies, Rules, and Regulations.
  3. Bringing players’ and parents’ concerns to the attention of the GTHL Staff and Board.
  • Term and Meeting Frequency

Committee members will serve a term of not more than two years. The PPAC will convene at least three times a year, with additional meetings scheduled as deemed necessary by the chair.
