GTHL mourns the loss of David “Brian” Anderson

The Greater Toronto Hockey League is mourning the loss of David Brian Anderson, known as Brian. Brian passed away peacefully at home at the age of 85 surrounded by his family.

Brian was a constant supporting presence in his community, enthusiastically involved in Streetsville Minor Hockey, lacrosse, public skating, and as chairman of the board for Streetsville Arena, helping found the Streetsville Derbys in 1967. He also volunteered with the Boy’s Club in Streetsville and the Hotline in Mississauga. Brian had incredible patience, and enjoyed every minute helping others, impacting countless lives along the way.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Diana; beloved children Aprile and Scott; son-in-law Bob Spence and daughter-in-law Michelle Anderson. Brian was a proud and encouraging Papa to all of his seven grandchildren: Zachary, Keegan, Taylor, Jake, Barrett, Mitchel, and Cooper. Brian took great pride in attending his grandchildren’s special events and watching them play sports.

The GTHL and its community will keep Brian’s family and friends in our thoughts during this time.
