There’s still plenty of hockey to play, but that doesn’t mean the race to the Kraft Cup is any less intense. See what divisions got a little bit tighter over the weekend.

Atom A

Both Vaughan-based teams are dominating in the West, with the Vaughan Rangers (6-0-0, 12 points) further solidifying their number one position over the weekend after a 3-0 win over the Humberview Huskies. The Toronto Wolverines (4-1-2, 10 points) moved into third place behind the Vaughan Panthers after a two-win weekend.

The Vaughan Panthers (6-1-0, 12 points) will look to steal the number one spot from the Vaughan Rangers this week as they face the Duffield Devils on Monday evening.

In the East, the standings could not be any tighter with four teams – North Toronto (5-0-1, 11 points), York Mills (5-0-1, 11 points), Willowdale Blackhawks (5-1-1, 11 points), Don Mills Mustangs (5-1-1, 11 points) –  all posting 11 points after six and seven games.

Teams should keep an eye on the Toronto Aeros who have gone 3-1-0 in their last four, including a win over the Goulding Park Rangers on the weekend.

Peewee AA

Much like their Atom A counterparts, the Peewee AA Vaughan Rangers (7-0-0, 14 points) remain undefeated after a 3-0 over the Toronto Wolverines on Friday. The team remains five points ahead of both the Ice Warriors (4-1-1, 9 points) and the Mississauga Braves (4-1-1, 9 points) who are tied for second with identical records after six games apiece.

Teams should watch out for the Humber Valley Sharks (3-1-1, 7 points) who have won three of their last four.

The Ted Reeve Thunder (7-0-0, 14 points) seem to be the East’s answer to the Vaughan Rangers, as the team also remains undefeated after beating the Willowdale Blackhawks 8-0 on Sunday. Despite their record, the Scarborough Young Bruins (6-0-1) remain close behind after three straight wins. They’re scheduled to take on the Markham Islanders (1-5-1, 3 points) on Tuesday.

Bantam AAA

The Bantam AAA standings got even tighter over the weekend with the top five teams – Jr. Canadiens (6-1-1, 13 points), North York Rangers (5-1-2, 12 points), Toronto Marlboros (5-0-1, 11 points), Mississauga Rebels (5-1-1, 11 points), Mississauga Reps (5-2-0, 10 points), and the Don Mills Flyers (3-3-1, 7 points) all within three or less points of one another.

At least a game behind the rest of the teams in the division, the Toronto Marlboros are sitting strong in third place after only six games. The team won three straight before posting a 2-2 tie to the first place Jr. Canadiens over the weekend.

Teams should be keeping an eye on the Don Mills Flyers (3-3-1, 7 points) who have won three straight, including a 3-2 win over the Vaughan Kings on Sunday.
