Greater Toronto Hockey League Announces Details For 8th Annual GTHL Top Prospects Game, Powered by Under Armour

TORONTO – December 7, 2016 – The Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) shares details surrounding its 8th Annual GTHL Top Prospects Game and announces that Under Armour is the official presenting partner.  The top 40 GTHL Minor Midget AAA players will showcase their skills on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at Scotiabank Pond in Downsview Park. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 9 a.m.  

Two celebrity coaches will be behind the benches at this year’s event, including broadcaster and NHL Alumni Nick Kypreos, and former NHL coach and general manager Doug MacLean. Each roster will feature two goaltenders, six defenceman and 12 forwards.

“Going into its eighth year, we’re very honoured to have continued support for this incredible event,” said GTHL Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer Scott Oakman. “It’s a great opportunity for these highly skilled players to showcase their talents to the GTHL community. Our new partnership with Under Armour is a perfect fit for the GTHL as we both have a goal to help our athletes reach their full potential and share a commitment to grassroots hockey.”

Alumni of the event include NHL stars Connor McDavid, Mitch Marner, Max Domi, and more.

“As the official apparel provider of the Top Prospects Game and the OHL Cup, we look forward to supporting these talented young players as we fulfill our mission to make all athletes better,” said Shana Ferguson, Under Armour Canada’s Director of Marketing.

Nine different Minor Midget AAA clubs will be represented at the event, with the Toronto Marlboros leading all clubs with eight players.

Advance tickets can be purchased online at http://bit.ly/GTHLTopProspects or at the GTHL office, located inside Scotiabank Pond at 57 Carl Hall Road in Toronto. The GTHL office is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the gate. Advance ticket purchase is recommended to avoid line-ups at the arena. No passes will be accepted.
