GTHL remembers John Debling

The Greater Toronto Hockey League and its community are mourning the loss of John Debling. John passed at the age of 87 years old after a lengthly battle with cancer. John was the longest standing executive for the Mississauga Terriers, last serving as the organization’s Vice President.

The Terriers wrote:

“It is with heavy hearts that the Mississauga Terriers announce the passing of our dearest friend and longest standing executive, Mr. John Debling. John was a 46-year Terrier, starting as a coach in 1978 and graduating to the Board of Directors for the last 35 years. John never sought the limelight, and was always content to help while staying under the radar. No matter what the task, John was always willing to do more than his share to help the Terriers, to help the community, and most of all, to help our hockey families and players. John will always be remembered as a kind, thoughtful, patient, and very gentle man. He was a mentor to all of us in the Terrier family and will be missed.”

The GTHL is deeply saddened by the loss and is sending heartfelt condolences to John’s family and friends during this difficult time.
