Midget All-Star Preview: “A” Game

Playing organized hockey has consistently been part of Damien Lisi‘s life since he was young. Now halfway through his Midget season, the Ted Reeve Thunder forward will soon be leaving his minor hockey years behind him.

“I couldn’t have enjoyed it [the GTHL] more,” explained Lisi, who will be representing team GTHL during the 17th annual Midget “A” All-Star game as part of the Midget All-Star Festival. “Sadly this is my last year of organized hockey, but will most likely end up playing some form of hockey throughout university and beyond.”

Lisi will be one of 20 players representing Team GTHL who will face off against players from the Mississauga Hockey League (MHL) on Team MHL. All 11 GTHL Midget “A” teams will have at least one player represented. Players were nominated by coaches in their respective division. Coaching staff for the teams was determined based on League standings as of late December.

The division-leading Toronto Aeros (22-2-2) will have the most players represented with four, followed by the third place Vaughan Panthers (16-6-4) who will send three players. Coaching staff from the first place Toronto Aeros will tend to duties behind the bench for Team GTHL.

Puck drop for the 17th annual Midget “A” All-Star game will take place Monday, February 5, 2018 at Scotiabank Pond. Puck drop will be at 7:30 p.m.  Admission is free.
