Nutrition Tuesday: Fuel Bites

Establishing healthy eating habits at home is a key component in improving your on-ice performance. Feeding your body with the fuel needed for every shift will help you seamlessly transition back to the ice when the time comes. Every Tuesday, nutritionist Seanna Thomas will be bringing you recipes and nutrition tips via the GTHL Instagram that will help to build healthy routines.

The first-ever Nutrition Tuesday brought a recipe for quick and easy fuel bites. Made in a matter of minutes, this healthy snack is perfect for post-workout recovery. You’ll need:

1/2 cup peanut butter/all-natural sunbutter

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 cup rolled oats

3-4 tbsp hemp hearts

Mix nut butter and maple syrup until combined. All remaining ingredients and stir. Taking out a teaspoon of the mixture at a time, make a ball. Makes approximately 12-15 fuel bites.
