Defenseman Jakob Chychrun (Toronto Jr. Canadiens) scored the lone shootout goal, lifting Team Graves to a 6-5 win over Team Clark at the 5th Annual Scotiabank GTHL Top Prospects Game on Tuesday.
Team Graves carried the pace most of the game, holding a 4-2 lead after 40 minutes. Domenico Commisso (Don Mills Flyers) made it a three-goal advantage early in the third period but Michael McLeod (Toronto Marlboros) and Evan Brown (Vaughan Kings) scored 35 seconds apart to bring Team Clark within one midway through the final frame of regulation.
With the goaltender pulled for an extra skater, Team Clark’s Joseph Mizzi (Toronto Marlboros) tied the game with 54 seconds on the clock.
The thrilling finish was an appropriate close to an intense and competitive game between players aiming to impress the hundreds of fans and scouts on hand for the annual showcase.
