13 GTHL Graduates Claim Gold With Team Ontario In Winnipeg

Toronto (January 5, 2011) –  13 GTHL Graduates were members of the Gold Medal Winning Team Ontario at the World Under 17 Challenge which rapped up last evening in Winnipeg Manitoba before a record crowd of 12,060 at the MTS Centre. 


Twelve of twenty-two players from the team are graduates of the Greater Toronto Hockey League; Jake Paterson (Toronto Marlboros), Jesse Graham (Toronto Nationals), Gianluca Curcuruto (Mississauga Reps), Adam Pelech (Toronto Marlboros), Matthew Finn (Toronto Marlboros), Matia Marcantuoni (TorontoMarlboros), Scott Laughton (Toronto Marlboros), Matthew Campagna (Toronto Nationals), Sean Monahan (Mississauga Rebels), Chris Marchese (Toronto Marlboros), Andreas Athanasiou (Toronto Titans), Robert Polesello (Jr. Canadiens) and Thomas Wilson (Jr. Canadiens).

 

This marks the third time in four years that Team Ontario has won gold at this event.
