Powering Up for the PlayStation Platinum Cup

Player’s from 24 Atom teams are powering up to press play on the third annual PlayStation Platinum Cup Powered by the Toronto Maple Leafs and the GTHL. The last weekend in November has quickly become synonymous with the tournament, which boasts an impressive line up of competitive teams and fun off-ice activities. Win or lose, players are looking forward to an action-packed three days.

“This will most likely be the best tournament I’ll ever play in,” said Nate Boyd, a player with the West Hill Golden Hawks Atom AA team. “Whether we win or lose, this will go down in my books as a great experience.

Taking place at the MasterCard Centre, the official practice facility of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Marlies, teams are excited about the opportunity to skate on the same ice as their hockey heroes.

“I think it will be so fun playing in big rinks and on great ice,” said Nate’s teammate, Ryder Pitblado. “I am looking forward to doing great and winning the tournament.”

Attendees will get a further taste of the pro hockey life when they visit Air Canada Centre on Saturday morning. Signings from Leafs alumni will take place on-site at the MasterCard Centre throughout the weekend. A tournament sponsored by PlayStation also wouldn’t be complete without some friendly competition on NHL 18. Booths will be set up at the arena in order for players to practice their PlayStation skills between games.

“I’m looking forward to playing NHL 18,” said Cole Kinley from the Don Mills Mustangs. Kinley, along with each player in the tournament, will receive a copy of a video game.
