72 GTHL alumni featured on 2021-22 NHL opening night rosters

This week the National Hockey League dropped the puck on the 2021-22 season, with opening night rosters featuring a total of 72 Greater Toronto Hockey League alumni.

The Toronto Maple Leafs lead the way with six GTHL graduates, while the Edmonton Oilers and the New Jersey Devils are a close second with five each. Of the 32 NHL teams, 29 have at least one GTHL graduate rostered for opening night, while 13 teams have three or more former players.

Wednesday, October 13 features five NHL games on the schedule, including the Leafs playing host to the Montreal Canadiens at 7pm. Shifting over to western Canada, the Oilers and the Vancouver Canucks are also facing off.
