The month leading up to the holidays was a busy one for the boys of the Goulding Park Rangers Minor Peewee A team.

The first two weeks of December saw the team spearheading a used hockey equipment drive. The team collected used equipment from the entire Goulding Park Association, sorted it and delivered it to the Flemingdon community. The equipment is currently being used by children learning how to skate and play hockey; children who would otherwise not have had the opportunity due to the cost of ice & equipment.

Also, the team coach, Byron Waldman, and trainer, Ann Reynolds, canvassed community grocery stores for non-perishable food donations, ultimately raising donations of over $2,000 in food. On Dec. 8, the team put together 150 “Bags of Kindness” for Ronald McDonald House. These “Bags of Kindness” are on-the-go breakfast bags for families travelling back and forth from the hospital to the House to visit their children.

The team also budgeted for a toy donation of $25 per player to have the players go shopping and donate toys for the kids at the House and in the hospital. When the bags of kindness and toys were delivered it took up the whole lobby of Ronald McDonald House!
