DRILL OF THE MONTH: Four Station Puck Control Skills
Age Groups
- Under-9
Skill Description – First Progression
- Place five pylons (can also use pucks) in formation as shown.
- Player must skate around each of the outside pylons and come back to the middle before skating around one of the outside pylons again.
- Keep toes pointing forward during transitions.
Skill Description – Second Progression
- Players can do this drill with a puck.
Key Teaching Points
- Quick feet, stay low for balance.
- Efficient movements (ex. Trying to do only 1 crossover to get back to the middle).
- Working on transitions from forward and backwards skating.
