15 GTHL Alumni Selected at the 2016 NHL Draft
The 2016 NHL Draft saw GTHL alumni selected in each of its 7 rounds, with 14 grads selected in total. Toronto Marlboros alumni and 2014 OHL Cup MVP, Michael McLeod, was the highest of the draft picks, going 12th overall to the New Jersey Devils. Former Toronto Jr. Canadiens defenceman Jakob Chychrun quickly followed behind after he was selected 16th overall by the Arizona Coyotes.
