48 GTHL Alumni set to compete in 2025 NHL Playoffs

The 2025 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs are set to begin on Saturday, April 19 with a total of 48 Greater Toronto Hockey League alumni on the hunt for hockey’s greatest prize.

The Toronto Maple Leafs, led by Mitch Marner (Don Mills Flyers) and John Tavares (Toronto Marlboros) as well as aided by trade deadline pick-up Scott Laughton (Toronto Marlboros), will look to quell their playoff demons as the Battle of Ontario is restored in the first round match-up against the Ottawa Senators.

In the Metropolitan Division, Dylan Strome (Toronto Marlboros), Tom Wilson (Toronto Jr. Canadiens), and the Washington Capitals will look to continue their surprising ascent to the top of the Eastern Conference. The Capitals will face Jake Evans (Mississauga Rebels) and the Montreal Canadiens, who will try to play the spoiler in the first round.

In the West, the Dallas Stars with six GTHL alumni will look to finally get over the hump, but face a tall task against the Colorado Avalanche. Meanwhile, Jeff Skinner (Toronto Young Nationals) gets his first taste of NHL playoff action as the Edmonton Oilers, led by Connor McDavid (Toronto Marlboros) face down Warren Foegele (Toronto Young Nationals) and the Los Angeles Kings.
