A total of 82 GTHL players were drafted as part of the 2017 OHL Priority Selection, including 12 in the first round.
The North Bay Battalion were the first team to draft a GTHL skater, selecting Toronto Nationals centerman Brandon Coe with the third overall pick. Ryan Suzuki of the London Jr. Knights went first overall to the Barrie Colts, while Oakland Jr. Grizzlies centre Tag Bertuzzi was selected second overall by the Guelph Storm.
Seven GTHL players were selected in the top 10, including GTHL Minor Midget Player of the Year Nicholas Porco, who was selected fourth overall by the Saginaw Spirit.
