DRILL OF THE MONTH: Four Station Puck Control Skills

Age Groups 

  • Under-9

Skill Description – First Progression 

  • Place five pylons (can also use pucks) in formation as shown. 
  • Player must skate around each of the outside pylons and come back to the middle before skating around one of the outside pylons again. 
  • Keep toes pointing forward during transitions. 

Skill Description – Second Progression 

  • Players can do this drill with a puck. 

Key Teaching Points 

  • Quick feet, stay low for balance. 
  • Efficient movements (ex. Trying to do only 1 crossover to get back to the middle). 
  • Working on transitions from forward and backwards skating.
