GTHL to host U12 team representing Korean Elementary Ice Hockey Association

The Greater Toronto Hockey League is proud to host Under-12 hockey players representing the Korean Elementary Ice Hockey Association (KEIHA) with a welcome on September 24 through to October 8. The U12 KEIHA team will be looking to gain more experience within the sport of hockey as a part of Canadian culture.

The visit will feature a number of on-ice training sessions hosted by GTHL Development Staff as well as off-ice sessions with Matt Nichol’s Paragenix Systems.

From September 25 to September 30, the KEIHA team will face-off in eight exhibition games with GTHL teams before participating in the Mississauga Earlybird Tournament from October 2 to 6. The team will also get to take-in a Toronto Maple Leafs preseason game.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for us to host a team from South Korea that are excited to live the life of a player in the GTHL for two weeks,” said Peter Kourtis, GTHL General Manager. “We hope that these cultural connections go beyond just the games as our teams hosting them in exhibition will also be hosting them with a team meal and event.”
