Toronto Avalanche and Vaughan Rangers work together to build Toy Mountain

Every year former CTV News reporter Naomi Parness works together with Councillor Sandra Yeung Racco to organize a Toy Mountain fundraiser in Vaughan. This year, the Greater Toronto Hockey League’s Under-11 Toronto Avalanche and U13 Vaughan Rangers collected toys for the event, only to come together to help sort the mountain of donations.

“It’s always so great to be able to bring the teams together at the holidays to give back to those in need,” Parness shared. “Thanks to the teams, schools, and local companies, we collected hundreds of toys.”

2021 marks the 26th anniversary of the CTV Toy Mountain Campaign benefiting The Salvation Army, providing help and hope to families struggling. Every year, CTV invites businesses, schools, organizations, community groups and viewers to become partners — to collect toys — and to help build Toy Mountain.
