GTHL grads set to drop the puck

Each of the six National Hockey League teams dropping the puck to open the 2013-14 season will have a Greater Toronto Hockey League alumni in their lineup.

Nine former GTHL players are listed on the Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, Chicago Blackhawks, Washington Capitals, Edmonton Oilers and Winnipeg Jets rosters.

 

Toronto Maple Leafs

David Clarkson (Born 1984) – Markham Islanders

*Bryan Bickell (Born 1986) – Toronto Red Wings

Tom Wilson (Born 1994) – Toronto Jr. Canadiens

Joel Ward (Born 1980) – Don Mills Flyers, North York Canadiens and Hillcrest AA

 

Edmonton Oilers

Luke Gazdic (Born 1989) – North York Rangers

Sam Gagner (Born 1989) – Toronto Marlboros

 

Winnipeg Jets

Matt Halischuk (Born 1988) – Toronto Jr. Canadiens
