Minor Atom A
A busy weekend of Minor Atom A hockey didn’t do much to separate the top teams in each division.

The East has four teams – Forest Hill (15-0-1, 31 points), Leaside Flames (13-1-0, 26 points), North Toronto (11-2-1, 23 points) and Willowdale Blackhawks (10-3-0, 20 points) – with at least 20 points through the first eight weeks of the season.

Forest Hill, who registered its only tie on Oct. 26 vs. Goulding Park Rangers (2-2 T), stretched its win streak to five games with a 9-1 decision over the Toronto Aeros. They have scored 7.69 goals per game, compared to a 1.25 goals-against ratio.

Also winners of five in a row, the Flames posted an 8-0 win against the Toronto Shamrocks to record their seventh shutout of 2015-16. Their 0.86 goals-against average ranks first in the division.

York Mills rounds out the top five teams, after they improved to 9-3-1 (19 points) with weekend victories over North Toronto (2-1 W) and Willowdale (1-0 W).

A similar battle is taking place in the West, where the Duffield Devils (12-0-2, 26 points) and Vaughan Rangers (12-0-1, 25 points) both earned wins over the weekend to remain undefeated this season.

The Devils picked up victories on Saturday at Toronto Wolverines (6-1 W) and Sunday at Humber Valley Sharks (4-0 W) to extend their win streak to four games.

The Rangers own a five-game win streak, following 6-0 and 2-1 triumphs over the Vaughan Panthers and Avalanche, respectively.

In 2014-15, the Vaughan Rangers posted a 34-0-2 record (70 points) to finish the season as the only undefeated team in Minor Atom A.

Peewee AA
Jockeying for top spot in the West is heating up after the second and third-ranked teams – the Mississauga Terriers (10-2-2, 22 points) and Streetsville Tigers (10-3-1, 21 points), respectively – each earned a win on the weekend.

The Terriers registered a 6-2 victory over the Humber Valley Sharks, while the Tigers downed the Mississauga Braves 6-1.

Both clubs are chasing the Ice Warriors (10-1-3, 23 points), who have won nine of their last 12 games dating to Sept. 29. Their only setbacks in that span were ties against the Terriers (3-3 T and 1-1 T) and Tigers (1-1 T).

The Vaughan Panthers (10-3-0, 20 points) and Mississauga North Stars (8-3-3, 19 points) also are within striking distance of first place.

Bantam AAA
Call it a baker’s dozen or lucky No. 13 – whichever way you look at it, it’s perfect for the Mississauga Rebels.

The Rebels posted a 9-0 shutout over the North York Rangers on Saturday to earn their 13th win of the season and keep their unblemished record in tact. At 13-0-0 (26 points), the Rebels hold a five-point lead over the Mississauga Reps (10-3-1, 21 points) for first place in the Kraft Cup standings.

Right behind the Reps are the Toronto Marlboros (8-3-4, 20 points) and Toronto Young Nationals (8-4-4, 20 points), who played to a 1-1 tie on Friday at Etobicoke Ice Sports. The Marlboros also earned a 4-2 victory over the Don Mills Flyers on Sunday.

The Toronto Jr. Canadiens (8-3-2, 18 points) collected a pair of wins – at North York Rangers (5-0 W) and vs. Mississauga Senators (2-1 W) – to keep pace among the division’s top clubs.
