Toronto, ON — The Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) received the report regarding alleged financial improprieties that was conducted by Special Integrity Commissioner, retired Justice Mr. David Watt, on December 19, 2024 (the “Report”). The GTHL Governance Committee conducted an initial review of the report, and on January 28, 2025, the GTHL Board of Directors met to discuss the next steps. The GTHL Board of Directors extends its appreciation to Justice Watt and Independent Investigator Michael Davis for their diligent investigation, and insightful and thoughtful recommendations.
The GTHL Board of Directors has now formally assigned these matters to the GTHL Governance Committee. The Governance Committee will further review the Report’s findings and recommendations, engage in Member consultations, and will prepare an Action Plan to be presented to the GTHL Board. The Action Plan will include a summary of the Report along with the steps to be taken by the GTHL and its Members. This Action Plan will be publicly released to GTHL Members in March.
